State Senate Minority Leader Billie Sutton announced his candidacy for the governor of South Dakota Wednesday (May 31). The 33 year-old from Bruke will seek the Democratic nomination for governor in the 2018 election.

After his announcement Sutton for South Dakota debuted their first campaign video. In the clip posted to YouTube, Sutton tells the story of his paralyzing rodeo injury, introduces his family, talks about serving his community and about his campaign's priorities.
