With Memorial Day fast approaching, it amazes me how many people don't understand the meaning of the holiday. But I have the perfect way for you to remember.

I can't remember where I first heard it or who's responsible for coming up with it, but I learned it when I was in school and it's something that has stuck with me all these years.

Sadly, many people don't know the difference between Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Here's how I learned what the difference is.

Armed Forces Day honors those currently wearing the uniform,

Veterans Day honors those who no longer wear the uniform,

Memorial day honors those who never had the opportunity to take off the uniform.

Remember the reason for the holiday and stop by a cemetery this weekend if you can. It's the least we can do to thank those who gave their all for this country in which we live.
