There was a serious torrent of insults hurled at Bing courtesy of Justin Bieber‘s Beliebers after the Bing official Twitter account tweeted words of encouragement and endorsement for One Direction in the MTV VMAs ‘Share-Worthy’ video poll. Bing is sponsoring the poll so a few tweets were issued, no doubt to generate interest in the poll and to get Directioners to vote. But that did not sit well with Beliebers, who responded with slurs and disses to Bing, claiming Google would always have their hearts after this nonsense.

All Bing did was joke that Simon Cowell messed up when he didn’t choose the individual members of 1D to appear on ‘X Factor,’ instead assembling them into a group, which is contradictory, since the whole was greater than the sum of the parts.

The Beliebers engaged in a full on verbal war, which you can see here. It’s pretty rough and nasty.

Biebs’ manager Scooter Braun eventually weighed in, like a referee, asking the Beliebers to stop being so angry and reminding them that music is a universal language and a uniter. He also took Bing to task, complaining about their contest dividing two titans of teen popdom, aka corporations.

MTV then claimed that the votes were being tallied fairly. Bing also issued a tweet encourage its followers to vote for Gotye next.

Drama, drama, drama. Can’t Beliebers, Bing and Directioners all just get along?
