All of the conditions are right today for storm breakouts all across the tri-state area.  You will want to stay aware of developing weather conditions.

Sioux Falls National Weather Service Meteorologist Todd Heitkamp says: "We have had record setting rainfall over the last week and today we could see rainfall amounts over an inch.  This rainfall on over already saturated ground could cause even more flooding.  We also have the possibility of large hail and tornados"

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in effect today until 2pm for these counties in South Dakota:
AURORA, BON HOMME, BRULE, CHARLES MIX, CLAY DAVISON, DOUGLAS, GREGORY, HANSON, HUTCHINSON, LINCOLN, MCCOOK, MINNEHAHA, TURNER, UNION, YANKTON

According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls Flash Flooding, up to Baseball Size Hail, up to 70 mph Winds, even Tornados possible today in the tri-state area of South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa.

Storms are expected to become severe with large hail, strong winds, tornadoes and heavy rainfall. The greatest potential for tornadoes will be from mid-day on with the greatest threat for tornadoes this afternoon into evening across the tri-state area.
