A 44-year-old Sioux Falls man is in custody after authorities searched his home on Thursday, October 27, (2016) and found 400 files of child pornography on his computer.

A "cyber tip" led to the arrest of Eric Van Emmerik, according to the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office. Software that searches IP addresses linked to child pornography is what helped link an IP address assigned to Van Emmerick's home located just north of Sioux Falls.

KDLT TV is reporting that authorities served a search warrant at Van Emmerick's home, but he was not there at the time they arrived. Van Emmerik later agreed to meet authorities where they interviewed him regarding the charges.

During the interview Van Emmerik admitted to viewing child pornography for a number of years. According to Van Emmerik, "I've never bought, sold or made any, I've never touched a child." He said that he'd just been waiting to get caught.

Authorities confiscated Van Emmerik's computer at the time of the search, where they uncovered a folder with 400 files of child pornography. Five of the files included videos of children 1 to 2-years-old and younger.

Van Emmerik is facing five counts of child pornography. More charges could be filed as the Minnehaha County State's Attorney reviews all the evidence.

Van Emmerik is in jail on a $50,000 bond.
