BJ Ragone

Born and raised in a little town called Westerlo, NY.  Being brought up on the top of the Helderberg Mountains I endured many things.  Hillbilly's, loud trucks, the smell of fresh cow manure and of course boredom.   So I got my act together and wandered off the mountain into the big city.  Took up a love for radio and the rest is history.  A few things about me: -I'm a hot dog connoisseur.  You need to know the best topping for a hot dog, I got your back. -Favorite band is Black Sabbath.  Both the Ozzy and Dio years.  Anything after that is just weird.

It's safe to say that many people thought that Bobby Valentine's employment as manager of the Red Sox would be terminated at some point soon. Management wasted no time in doing so, firing him the day after the regular season ended.

Are Fans Sitting Too Close to the Game? — Sports Survey of the Day

One feature common to nearly all of the ballparks built in the last 20 years or so—roughly since Baltimore's Camden Yards kick-started the surge of new stadiums in 1992—is the increased proximity of the fans to the action.

Nearer outfield fences, smaller foul territories, and less room between the rows of seats and the barrier separating them from the field certainly help bring fans closer to the game, but occasionally at some expense, such as what happened earlier this week in the Bronx.
