Augustana College will hold bragging rights for the second straight year as the winner of the 2013-14 Sioux Falls Mayor's Cup Challenge with the University of Sioux Falls.

The Vikings won the point-based competition that pits 16 common sports by a score of 14-5.

Additional points are awarded for efforts in the classroom and the community. Two blood drives were held this year and one point was awarded per event.

Augustana won head-to-head competitions over USF in soccer, men's basketball, women's tennis, baseball, men's golf, women's golf, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field.

The Cougars earned points for wins in football and volleyball, and for the first Mayor’s Cup blood drive and end-of-year student athlete grade point average.

The Vikings and Cougars split a doubleheader in softball and home games in women's basketball.

The series focuses on the message that "Every Game Counts" and that the rivalry between the schools is a year-long affair.

Augustana won the inaugural Mayor's Cup by a margin of 13-6 in 2012-13.
