Attempted Murder Charges Filed In Chase Case That Has Trooper In Critical Condition
The States Attorneys for both Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties have filed numerous charges against 25-year old Rachel Coleman of Sioux Falls in the wake of a police chase in the early morning hours Wednesday.
Coleman allegedly ran over State Trooper Andrew Steen who had surgery Thursday to relieve pressure on his brain.
Coleman is being charged with: first degree attempted murder, aggravated assault on law enforcement, vehicular battery, DWI, felony eluding and felony hit and run.
Law enforcement say Coleman allegedly ran over Steen near the strip mall at 57th & Western. Officers shot Coleman before she crashed her car near 47th & Western. There have been no updates on Coleman’s medical condition.
The crimes were committed in both counties, but she will be charged in Lincoln County.
