Police say it began as a disagreement among three Sioux Falls roommates, and it ended with one of them arrested for first-degree arson.

Captain Greg VandeKamp says police and Sioux falls Fire Rescue units were called shortly after noon on Thursday to the 3200 block of North Cliff Avenue, where a fire had been started in a bathroom:

VandeKamp says the roommate had stuffed clothing into a vent and started the clothing on fire, but he says the only damage was in the vent and to a hamper in the bathroom. He says 38-year-old David Whitten was treated for a head wound and arrested on a first-degree arson charge.

Whitten's roommates, one male and one female, were not charged. VandeKamp says alcohol was a factor in the roommates' dispute.
