If your kids are already sitting on the couch complaining about how bored they are because of the summer break from school, there is a camp in Sioux Falls that will help get those kids off the couch and learning, too.  The Get Fit Camp is a Saturday morning camp in Sioux Falls that will focus on fitness and healthy lifestyles.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue will be training kids on the importance of fitness, healthy lifestyles, fire safety and what it means to be a firefighter.  The campers will go through activity stations led by firefighters and also have classes on how important smoke detectors are and what should be done during a fire or emergency.  And because many kids are home by themselves during the summer, firefighters will also focus on safety when home alone

The Get Fit Camp will be Saturday mornings for four weeks starting this Saturday, May 31st through Saturday, June 21st and is open to students ages 7 to 9.  Cost is $20 and parents will be asked to sign a waiver.  There will be two Get Fit Camp session times, 9am to 10:30am and 10am to 11:30am.

Campers and their parents will also be able to visit the Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Training Center and have their kids take part in their own firefighter challenge on Saturday, June 21st.  More information on the challenge will come home with the students during the camp.

Parents have through Friday, May 30th to get their child registered for the Get Fit Camp with Sioux Falls Fire Rescue.
