An 18-Year-Old Accidentally Shoots His Penis and One Testicle

While I am an advocate for law-abiding citizens to exercise their Second Amendment rights, this guy does not qualify and should never be allowed to own a firearm ever.

That said, this incident should leave the gene pool stronger.

On Thursday morning, 18-year-old Michael Smeriglio of Port St. Lucie, Florida was cleaning a gun he'd illegally bought from a guy at a party in August. But the gun was loaded, and while Michael was cleaning it, it went off.

The bullet went through his penis, then blasted through his left testicle, and finally lodged in his thigh. He went to the hospital where he was treated.

When someone comes into the hospital with a bullet wound, even an embarrassing one, the policy is to call the cops. At first Michael told them someone shot him in the junk, but eventually he told them the truth.

When he told them he'd bought the gun at his friend's party, the cops went to that friend's house to investigate, and found the friend had a bunch of marijuana. So Michael's friend, 22-year-old Joseph James, was arrested.

It's not clear yet what charges Michael will be facing or how much function doctors were able to restore down below.
