New Rochelle (N.Y.) High School was trailing Mt. Vernon by 10 points with 3 minutes left in the New York Section 1 Class AA championship game on Sunday afternoon. The Huguenots rallied to within two points with 2.9 seconds remaining, and they had the ball under their own basket for a last-ditch attempt.

What happened next was incredible.

The New Rochelle inbounds pass was stolen by Mt. Vernon and thrown into the backcourt, but New Rochelle's Khalil Edney got the ball and threw up a desperation shot that went in after the buzzer sounded. The officials conferred. After clearing the court, they counted the shot.
