ABERDEEN - An Aberdeen Central High School senior forced to miss his senior prom because of emergency surgery received a surprise when the party came to him.

The Aberdeen American News reports that dozens of students in tuxes and dresses dropped by Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center to bring the prom to Patrick Dawn.

Patrick had to have emergency stomach surgery after he fell ill Tuesday. The teen says on Friday night, he was stuck lying in a hospital bed feeling miserable with feeding tubes up his nose.

On Saturday, he was dressed in a black tuxedo with a gray tie and a corsage and socializing with friends in the lobby.

Patrick's father, David Dawn, says he's overwhelmed by the kindness shown by teachers, classmates and the hospital staff.
