I saw a story the KELO-TV had about the proposed ban on texting and driving in Aberdeen. At the end of the story it says that you could have your phone confiscated as evidence if you are caught.

It's a good deterrent but is it going too far? Texting and driving is already hard to prove. Aberdeen cops already wear cameras on their heads so it would be a little easier to prove. But it's not as if the camera knows where the eyeball is pointing. The cams could still miss it.

A woman called in this morning and said she nearly got a ticket in Sioux Falls for texting in her car, but she got out of it when the officer saw that it was an iPod, not a phone she was tapping on.

What do you think?
