Abercrombie and Fitch is getting a lot of heat for not selling clothes in sizes XL and XXL. To explain this CEO Mike Jeffries told Salon magazine in 2006:

“We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.”

I completely understand the venom people are spewing. I agree that Jeffries is a complete jackass. On the other hand, there are stores that cater to only those who wear the XL and above sizes. There are stores that only sell to men.

Outside of selling to one gender or another, why wouldn't you want to sell as much of your crap to as many people as possible? I don't get being so hung up on image that you would sacrifice profits.

If there are skinny people who want to buy overpriced clothing made in China for pennies on the dollar, they can have at it. I will continue to buy my nearly new name brand clothes at a massive discount at Plato's Closet and Try It Again while I enjoy my gigantic burrito.
