Basketball season is here! The NBA started this week, the Sioux Falls Skyforce play their first game of the 2015-2016 season on November 12, 2015, and the Sioux City Hornets take to the hardwood for the first time.

Wait, what? Sioux City Hornets?!? That's right, a roster is being put together for the Hornets who will play a limited schedule in the American Basketball Association this season if everything goes as planned.

The team will have a roster that has players from around the world and a few around Sioux Empire. Training camp is set to open November 9, 2015. The plan is for the team play a couple of charity games at the Long Lines Family Recreation Center and four to six ABA games this season.

The charity games could be played as soon as November or December with ABA contests likely coming in January or February.

Each year, the ABA sends over 200 of its players to play internationally and to the D-League, and many have made the NBA.
