Although the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House recently opened, the Sioux Falls facility is already changing lives!

Anna Maria, her fiance Marcus and the couple's 18 month old son, stayed at the House for two weeks before moving into an apartment.

"The Dudley House has helped us so much in our hard time. We stayed there for two weeks and got an apartment. That's incredible. So there is hope!  This does work. It really does."

Marcus knows that for a fact!

"They were very comforting and understanding. Walked us through everything while we were there.  Taught Anna Maria a couple things, like what it takes to be an adult. Now that we have our own place, we couldn't be happier and feel more blessed."

The Bishop Dudley Hospitality House is on the corner of 8th Street and Indiana Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls. It took several months and five million dollars in donations to make it possible.  Now, the Sioux Falls shelter can house 80 men, 20 women and seven families.

Bishop Paul Dudley served the Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls from the late 1970's until 1995.  He was a major advocate for providing shelter and food to those in need.
