SIOUX FALLS -- The Holiday gas station on South Louise Avenue was robbed early Wednesday morning.

A person walked into the gas station armed with a knife. He left the store with cash. Officers watched the surveillance video and recognized the suspect from an earlier call at the store.

At 1:45 a.m., two men stole beer from the gas station. The theft was captured on the store video surveillance system.

At 3 a.m., officers were called to a loud party at an apartment at 6501 South Connie Avenue. As they handled that call, one of the officers noticed a person on the balcony at that apartment. That person was one of the suspects involved with the beer theft.

Officers watched the robbery surveillance video. They found the robbery suspect was also the second suspect in the beer theft.

With the information on these related crimes, officers developed a suspect. He was a 17-year-old and was found around 9 a.m. at a restaurant near West 41st Street and I-29. He was charged with Robbery, Grand Theft—Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Assault, Petty Theft (for the beer), and Underage Consumption.

The apartment renter from South Connie Avenue called police around 10 a.m. after he discovered his car keys and 2009 Audi A4 missing.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow.
