8-Year-Old Girl Drowns in Hotel Pool

On this Palm Sunday weekend so many families have spent time gathering together to kick off the holy week heading up to Easter.  One family in South Dakota is having to cope with a personal tragedy.  A family in Rapid City, SD needs your thoughts and prayers.    Police in Rapid City are investigating the apparent drowning death of an 8-year-old girl.  People called the R.C. Police Saturday morning about a possible drowning at the Econo Lodge hotel pool.  According to the Rapid City Journal:

People were performing CPR on the young girl near the pool when police arrived, according to a news release from the Rapid City Police Department.  The girl was taken by paramedics and pronounced dead soon after arriving at Rapid City Regional Hospital.  Econo Lodge general manager, Jamie Carda said she could not provide any information because the case is under investigation.  "There are a lot of pieces to the puzzle and they are working on it," Carda said on Sunday.  "Of course our hearts go out to the families," she said as tears began to fill her eyes.  The indoor pool was closed Sunday.

As a father, I cannot imagine the sense of loss and profound despair this family must be experiencing.  May God be with them.  Please, keep them in your prayers.
