The intersection of 57th Street and Louise Avenue in Sioux Falls has been under repair. The work was due to a water main break on Tuesday (July 18).

Traffic around this busy intersection has been disrupted. It has caused delays as traffic funneled from two lanes down to one.

I first learned of the commuting nightmare during rush hour in my car Tuesday afternoon heading West on 57th coming up on Louise.

Drivers have been forced to use alternate routes to avoid the work area. The good news is, work is complete.

The intersection of West 57th Street and South Louise Avenue will fully reopen by noon today (July 20). The water main repair and street resurfacing are both now complete.

“We thank the traveling public and the local businesses for their patience during this unexpected project,” says Chad Huwe, City Engineer.
