Soul II Soul is still around with three current members, Jazzie B, Caron Wheeler, and Charlotte Kelly. The British group was originally formed in 1988.

"Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)" peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on December 16, 1989. It hit #1 on the Dance Club Songs chart on August 26, 1989 and stayed there for three weeks, spending a total of twelve weeks on the chart.

Although they weren't a one-hit-wonder, their chart success waned. They did not have another top ten song or album after "Back to Life." By 1998 the group split up and several of the members released solo albums that had modest success. Two members of the group actually became teachers. Soul II Soul reunited in 2007 and subsequently toured.
