A 22-year old woman riding her bicycle through Sioux Falls Wednesday afternoon has passed away from injuries sustained when she was hit by a car near 49th & Kiwanis.

The Sioux Falls woman was riding on the sidewalk near the South Dakota State Medical Association building at 2600 W. 49th Street just before noon when she was hit by a Ford Explorer pulling out of a business parking lot.

No word on any charges yet against the 26-year old woman driving the vehicle. Identities are being withheld pending family notification.

Police closed off 49th Street between Elmwood and Kiwanis for three hours.

The driver is being cooperative with authorities. No arrests have been made but charges could come as the investigation continues.

A memorial ride will be held Thursday starting at 6pm at Spoke-N-Sport at 29th & Minnesota in Sioux Falls with riders biking to the accident site.
