Region play ended on Saturday night and two of three Sioux Falls schools managed to grab a couple of the last spots to the dance.

It was a given that either Sioux Falls Lincoln or Sioux Falls Roosevelt would go to the tournament with the other team having its season come to an end. Lincoln and Roosevelt met twice in the regular season with lopsided victories for each team on their home floor. The narrative stayed the same in the third meeting. Lincoln defeated Roosevelt 55-35 to secure the 3rd seed in the tournament.

Sioux Falls Washington traveled to Brookings in a Region 1 game. A close game down to the wire, but the Warriors managed to squeak out a 47-43. Washington will now travel back to Brookings looking to acquire a second straight championship.

If there is a surprise story heading into State look no further than the Huron Tigers. Huron entered District play with a 5-15 regular season record. After losing in the opening round to Pierre, Huron managed to string wins against Mitchell and Spearfish to punch their ticket to the tournament. Huron will be the 8th seed.

Finally, Aberdeen Central had little trouble with Rapid City Central on Saturday night. The Golden Eagles defeated the Cobblers 52-37 to secure the 5th seed.
