Two Sioux Falls women are facing long prison sentences for drug possession and child abuse in connection with a speeding traffic stop in January on I-90 near the Cliff Avenue exit.

45-year old Jo Anne Hettich and 34-year old  passenger Brande Black were in the van with five young children when they were stopped. A search of the van turned up marijuana, methamphetamine, psilocybin and hash.

Hettich and Black both face three charges of possession of a controlled substance, which carries a maximum penalty of ten years on each count. Hettich also faces three counts of child abuse or cruelty to a child which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years on each count.

Both Hettich and Black also face numerous misdemeanor charges as well.
