Drunk drivers better watch out during the month of March! Because the South Dakota Highway Patrol is going to be watching for you.

The Highway Patrol plans to set up 17 different sobriety checkpoints throughout South Dakota this month. The main goal, discourage drunk driving.

A saturation patrol is designed to place a number of troopers in a given area at one time.

In the past, these type of saturation patrols have proven quite effective.

Last November when the Sioux Falls police conducted a saturation patrol, they ended up issuing more than 500 different citations and nabbing 18 drunk drivers.

During the month of March, checkpoints are planned for the following counties in South Dakota: Aurora, Brown, Butte, Clay, Codington, Davison, Edmunds, Hughes, Jackson, Kingsbury, Lawrence, Marshall, Minnehaha, Pennington, Roberts, Sanborn and Yankton.

Please don't drink and drive. The life you save, might be your own.
