10 Red Flags for Dating

There are lots of things to be on the lookout for when you're dating. Serial killers is probably first on the list.

This morning we were talking about this list of dating red flags from The Stir.

• He tips badly
• He calls his mom and dad "mommy" and "daddy"
• He is disrespectful about ex-girlfriends/ex-wives
• He is rude to waiters
• He doesn't read books
• He smokes
• He doesn't work out
• He disparages women
• He is not interested in the news
• He hasn't traveled or has no desire

Two things really stood out to me in this list. One is that a guy doesn't work out. If he's lazy I agree. But if he actually works hard at his job doing construction, pouring concrete or something that is actual physical labor, not working out should not be a red flag.

The other thing that stood out was that he's a bad tipper. If he doesn't tip bad service, fine. If he tips 10% for average well-done service, he's cheap and he'll buy you a cubic zirconia when he proposes.
